Friday 7 December 8pm
Held at the Wangaratta Uniting Church Hall (Rowan Street)
A singer dances within, a dancer sings within. Parvyn Singh is both and exudes a seemingly effortless grace and purity in her movement and voice. Here is a colourful and exotic and-of- year treat: a celebration of Indian culture, both traditional and contemporary. This show offers traditional Indian music featuring tabla, sitar and voice as well as beautiful classical Indian dance contrasted with vibrant, energetic Bollywood dance routines.
Look out for information about a workshop with Parvyn and Josh to learn a dance routine and get an understanding of the history and culture behind Bollywood and Indian music.
The Café Culture Series is presented by Wangaratta Arts Council Inc. as part of regional tours managed by Just Shows To Go, and supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.
Held at the Wangaratta Uniting Church Hall – this venue is general admission. Doors open at 7.30pm. Please arrive by 7.45pm for a prompt start at 8pm. Shows are two hours including a 20 minute interval. Patrons are invited to bring drinks, glasses and food platters if they wish. There will be seating at tables as well as theatre-style seating.
