Steinway on Stage with Fiona Blick

Steinway on Stage is a series of intimate twilight concerts featuring Wangaratta’s magnificent Steinway Grand Piano with audiences gathered around it on the stage of the Alpine MDF Theatre. This program has been a partnership between Wangaratta Arts Council and Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre since 2010.

Fiona Blick is a classical musician, playing the piano and violin, and has performed around Australia in orchestras and as a soloist. Fiona has taught music privately and in schools for 20 years.

Studying at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, Fiona worked with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and was fortunate to be chosen to premiere both vocal and orchestral works from leading Australian composer George Dreyfus.

She has been musical director for the Allegro Theatre Company in multiple award winning musicals including The Twisted Mikado, Return to the Forbidden Planet and Fame, as well as the for Wangaratta Players’ production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Company.

Fiona’s recital will include some movie tunes by composers Yiruma and Yann Tiersen (Amelie), two pieces from Schuman’s Scenes from Childhood and selections from compositions by Chopin, Beethoven, Bach and Debussy.
