What We Said

Fri 11 & Sat 12 October 7.30pm

The creative duo behind the sell-out seasons of the Milawa Monologues brings you, in partnership with WPACC, a brand-new work.

What We Said is about the conversations we have and hear every day. It’s about what we say and what we don’t and how words can harm and heal.

In four separate conversations, a man and woman discuss the inane, in terms which are anything but. They teeter on the edge of understanding and take us to places uplifting and sad.

  • Two strangers at a party
  • A man and woman in a bar
  • Teenagers at dusk
  • Retirees in limbo

In a world full of shrill proclamations, What We Said encourages us to lean in and listen.

‘What We Said is a delicious rumination on contemporary relationships. It is funny and true and heartbreaking. In this play, Hickey bursts through clichés and delivers modern Australia. She is an exciting new talent.’  – Hannie Rayson, 2019
